Fundamental Skills.   Defensive "Close-Out".  When the offensive player receives the pass, the defender should rush toward the ball-handler in a low stance. The last few steps should be quick, choppy to stop your momentum. Snap your shoulders and head back to help slow your momentum. Your outside foot should be back to force the offensive player toward the sideline. Although not shown here, we are now teaching to close out with the inside hand up high to contest the outside shot.
