Outside Play.   Shallow Cut.
The shallow cut is seen here as a simple "exchange" between two outside players. When the pass to the wing is being denied, one way to get the ball there is to simply dribble it to the wing, while the wing player makes a shallow cut out to the point. The wing making the shallow cut maintains spacing and floor balance, and helps move her defender away from the wing, avoiding a potential trap.
