Outside Play. Deep Cut, Basket Cut. The deep cut is a cut that goes from outside, all the way inside to the hoop or low post area. In this example, it is also a "front cut", made in front of the defender (between the ball and the defender). This example is also known as the "give and go", where you pass to a teammate and make the front cut, looking to get the pass back. Also see "shallow cut".
