Today's Theme... Two new 1-4 Set Basketball Plays
Here are two new simple plays that use the 1-4 set.
"Elevator" - this play uses an elevator screen for your best shooter O2. Diagram 1 - O3 shallow cuts over O5 and O4's screens to the right wing, as O1 dribbles to the left wing. O2 cuts inside below the hoop. In diagram 2, O2 cuts hard between O4 and O5, who then "close the door" on the elevator screen. O1 passess to O2 for the open 3-point shot.
"Alabama" - this play clears out the left side for a pick and roll. Diagram 1 shows O3 shallow cutting over to the right wing, as O2 slides down to the corner. This clears out the left side. Diagram 2 shows O5 and O1 running a pick and roll action, with a shot for either O1 or O5. O3 moves up top for a safety pass from O1, in case the ball-screen action gets stopped.
