Today's Quote:  “The fundamentals of the game are the same wherever you go: pass, dribble, shoot, defend, rebound, screen, play hard and together” – Terry Stotts

Today's Theme:  Motion Offense Screening Drills

These breakdown screening drills are helpful for teaching motion offenses and other offenses that use screens.  For the complete article with diagrams and details, see:

Motion Offense Screening Drills

The following drills are included:

  • UCLA Screen and Cut
  • Screen-Away Down-screen and Cut

  • Flare-screen and Cut

  • Dribble-at and Shallow Cut

  • 4-Perimeter Players - 2 screens (UCLA screen to pin screen)

We add some drills that sequence more than one screen or action.

  • 2 screens - Flare-screen to Down-screen

  • Shallow cut to Down-screen

In the drills above, you can always add a defender or two to each drill, and also two balls with a coach/assistant who makes a pass to the screener for an additional shot.
