Basketball Play - "23" (or "32")

By Dr. James Gels, From the Coach’s Clipboard Basketball Playbook
"Helping coaches coach better..."
This is a simple "give and go" play to either side of the floor.

Setup:
Use the 3-out, 2-in set. O1 is at the point, O2 and O3 are on the wings, O5 and O4 are the post players. O1 starts the play by passing to either O2 or O3... you can run this right or left. O5 stays on the block opposite the ball side. O4 cuts to the ball-side corner.

O2 passes to O4 in the corner, and then makes a quick, sharp cut to the basket, and gets the pass from O4. If the defensive player guarding O5, picks up O2, O2 passes to O5. If O2 does not receive the ball, then he/she sets a pick for O5, who cuts to the ball-side block for the pass.

O1 rotates over to the 2 spot, and O3 rotates out to the point.

Basketball give and go play, 23

Remember, this can be run in either direction, left or right. The first pass from the point guard determines the direction of the play, and O5 should remember to be on the block opposite the ball, and O4 goes to the ball-side corner.
